Garden House
Garden House is a warm and nurturing three-bed residential children’s home that supports young people aged 11–18 who have experienced trauma, instability, or emotional and behavioural difficulties. The home provides a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment where young people are supported to build positive relationships, develop independence skills, and achieve better outcomes in education, emotional wellbeing, and daily life.Â
Garden House is a detached family-style home situated within a quiet residential area, offering young people a calm and welcoming environment while still being close to community resources, schools, and activities. The home has comfortable communal spaces where young people can relax, spend time together, and build positive relationships with staff and peers.

I started at Footsteps to Futures three years ago as a Senior, and I then progressed into a Deputy Manager role, before becoming a registered manager. Throughout this time, I have continued to develop my skills and understanding of the role, ensuring I was ready for each step in my career progression. I have always wanted to work with young people, and I feel fortunate to be part of such a supportive organisation that provides opportunities for growth, training, and development.
I am passionate about achieving positive outcomes for our young people by supporting them to understand themselves and reach their full potential. It is incredibly rewarding to see their progress and to hear them say that they enjoy living at Garden House.
I truly love the atmosphere within our home — it feels like a home away from home. We have kittens, which provide a therapeutic and nurturing environment for the young people, helping them to develop a sense of belonging. I also bring my dog into work, and the young people really enjoy spending time with her and playing in the garden.
My team is incredibly supportive and committed to listening to the young people’s views, wishes, and feelings. They consistently advocate for the young people’s best interests, ensuring they feel heard, valued, and supported.
